Waking this morning to a beautiful day with sunlight streaming through the windows and birds singing in the trees outside my bedroom window, I was momentarily fooled into expecting a pleasant and peaceful day.
Imagine my horror then when the tranquility in the quiet cul de sac where I live was shattered by the piercing squeal of my own house alarm!
What, you may wonder does this have to do with the cat called Mouse? Lots! Looking around panic stricken I discovered an equally panicky Mouse frozen in horror next to the panic button in my bedroom. I must have caught her unawares since for a split second she looked very sheepish before quickly rearranging her features into a look of pure innocence.
The ensuing debacle put paid to any hope I was harbouring of a half decent day. I won't bore you with too many details but basically I was unable to switch it off and had to call the alarm company in a state of panic to sort it out. Needless to say I was also late for work. I swear when I was running around panicking I noticed a faint smile of amusement on the Mousey face!
So what have I learned? Never allow an insane kitten near a panic alarm! Also Pig, my older cat bites feet when there is too much noise for him!
